Olivia, the blog owner of Favourite Things posted an idea for using doilies that most of us have laying around or stashed in our linen cupboards. It's a simple yet very creative idea for displaying earrings!
Simply put a doily in a embroidery hoop that matches it's size (or better) . Olivia's doily looks like it fits in the hoop perfectly but mine did not but I like the effect anyway. It gave my earring hoop a lacy pretty edging:

Thank you Olivia! I like how the doily just happened to be big enough to leave an edging on the outside of the hoop. It doesn't show up that well in the photo but in person it really looks pretty. ;-)
Thanks so much for a terrific idea !! I now know what to do with my late Mother's doilies where everyone that enters my home will be able to enjoy them !!!

I'm so glad this is something useful to you. Another thing I've done with the doilies I've made is to frame them. I really like how they look in an antique frame. The larger doilies go in a really big frame and can take up a lot of wall space but they look so beautiful when you can see them like artwork on the wall and appreciate all the time that went into making them.
