Browsing through hats patterns all over the internet for the past week I had trouble finding what I had in mind for left over yarn I had. I wanted something simple and neat, and in my mind's eye, something like the little hats we used to wear to church back in the day.
My yarn, Deborah Norville's Premier Everyday Soft Worsted in Really Red, deserved to have the perfect pattern for this perfect little hat I had in mind. I couldn't find just the right pattern so I invented one - not saying it's perfect though! Not by any means, but it's closer than anything I found that was to my preferences while pattern browsing. Anyway, I thought I would share the pattern with you just in case you had a ball of Premier yarn left over and was wondering what the heck to do with it.
( I have an old photo of me wearing one of those little hats I speak of but can't find it anywhere. Dang. When I do though, I'll post it here so you can see just what I mean.)

wow talk about the olden days.. My sister and me had several hats made like that.. some were out of gardine and some was sort of a straw looking material.. Mom's had a small veil attached with a flower on one side..Thanks for sharing your pattern.. Hope you have a blessed Easter..

Thank you June (wow - that's my Mom's and my birth-mom's name! It also happens to be my middle name and my daughter's middle name! lol) Anyway, I still have my old straw type hat you referred to, I have a photo of me wearing it somewhere all dressed up for church in a dress my mother made. It's what inspired this hat pattern. I hope you have a blessed Easter as well! Thank you for your comments.
